[Tracen Academy] Maruzensky

Support card art for [Tracen Academy] Maruzensky R Speed

Tier D. A free starter R Speed card that’s fine for your first couple of Career runs and gets benched the instant any SR Speed card shows up.

R Speed cards live at the bottom of the deck-building pile, and this one is no exception. Its only job is filling a Speed slot until something better arrives. The ratios aren’t terrible for the rarity: Friendship Bonus caps at 15% at MLB, Training Effectiveness tops out at 10%, and Specialty Priority hits 35. Problem is, R cards skip the high Friendship floors and the unique effect that let SR/SSR Speed cards carry rainbow training.

Everything in the kit screams starter. Initial Speed climbs to 25, you get a measly Power Bonus of 1 at Lv40, and the Race and Fan bonuses are small. The hint list works for early Career (Early Lead, Productive Plan, Mile Corners, Shifting Gears, Acceleration), and Early Lead also serves as the guaranteed event skill, which is nice if you’re running a front-runner miler. None of those hints are rare enough to earn a slot once you’ve got real cards.

The death blow is competition. It’s up against every Speed card you own, and it loses to nearly all of them. Sweep Tosho and Shinko Windy at SR already deliver most of a premium card’s output, and Kitasan Black is the ceiling. R Maru can’t touch any of them on Friendship density or training gains.

  • Pros: free, MLBs easily, solid Specialty Priority (35), usable miler hints, Early Lead as the event skill.
  • Cons: 15% Friendship cap, no unique effect, microscopic stat bonuses, loses to any SR Speed card.

Don’t pull for it. Use it for your opening runs, then drop it the second a Speed SR lands.
